Introducing the Tourist Attractions of Iranian Cities

Eqlid is a historic, mountainous city in the northern part of Fars Province, situated at an elevation of over 2,320 meters above sea level, making it the sixth highest city in Iran. With a history that dates back to the Achaemenid era, it was historically known as "Azargata" and was reputed as a center for training the war horses of Cyrus the Great.

Eqlid is renowned for its pristine nature and natural attractions—such as the Boraq Gorge, waterfalls, the Mollasadra Dam, and Mount Bel—making it a popular destination for tourists. Thanks to its cold winters and mild summers, it is also regarded as a pleasant summer retreat.

Among its many tourist attractions, the most notable include:

  • Kaftar Lake
  • Mollasadra Dam
  • Ghadamgah Sedeh
  • Boraq Gorge
  • Basiran Region

Eqlid, with its beautiful landscapes, historical heritage, and cool climate, is recognized as one of the region's favorite tourist spots.
