Azerbaijan’s territory will not be used for strikes against Iran: FM Bayramov

Azerbaijan says it will never allow its territory to be used against a third country, including neighboring and friendly Iran.

Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov made the remark in a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on Saturday following the Israeli regime’s aggression against Iran.

He expressed concern over the escalation of the situation in the region and extended his condolences over the martyrdom of a number of Iranian civilians and military commanders, particularly Major General Mohammad Baqeri, Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces.

He stressed the importance of resolving the existing issues only through dialogue and diplomatic means in accordance with the norms and principles of international law.

The Tel Aviv regime, backed by the United States, carried out a large-scale military aggression on multiple locations inside Iran in the early hours of Friday, targeting nuclear facilities, military infrastructure, and residential buildings in Tehran and other cities.

After targeting the headquarters of the Armed Forces, the regime resorted to extensive terrorist attacks on residential buildings, resulting in many civilian casualties, including women and children.

In a crushing response, code-named Operation True Promise III, Iran fired hundreds of missiles at multiple locations across the occupied Palestinian territories, causing extensive damage and casualties.

Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi, a senior advisor to the chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), said on Saturday that at least 150 targets were struck during the retaliatory operation against the Israeli regime, including several critically strategic military bases.

Araghchi, for his part, said the Israeli regime’s armed attacks on Iran blatantly violated national sovereignty and all international regulations.

"These measures have jeopardized international peace and security and Iran will give a decisive response to the aggression in line with its legitimate right to self-defense,” he added.

The Iranian foreign minister emphasized that by its attack on Iran’s nuclear sites, Israel crossed all red lines regarding the prohibition of attacking the peaceful nuclear facilities of countries and called for global condemnation of the move.

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI)’s spokesman, Behrouz Kamalvandi, said on Friday that there “have been no accidents” at the Fordow uranium enrichment facility in the country’s north, adding that the Islamic Republic’s main enrichment site in the central city of Natanz has suffered only “superficial damage” as a result of the assault.

Resorting to military means undermines diplomacy: Armenia FM

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said resorting to military options undermines the diplomatic process and efforts to maintain peace and security in the region and the world.

In a phone conversation with Araghchi, the Armenian foreign minister condemned Israel’s aggression against Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty and voiced Yerevan’s full solidarity with Tehran under the current difficult circumstances.

The Iranian foreign minister, for his part, said all countries must condemn the Israeli regime’s attacks, which pose a serious threat to international peace and security.

Based on the inherent right to self-defense, Iran will defend its territorial integrity and national sovereignty with all its might, Araghchi emphasized.

"The Zionist regime’s measures, which occur simultaneously with its ongoing genocide in Gaza, leave no doubts about the warmongering and law-breaking nature of this regime,” he pointed out.
