Iran Armed Forces will give more crushing response to Israel if aggression continues: President

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says the Armed Forces will give a more crushing and powerful response to the Israeli regime if it carries out more aggression on the country.

Pezeshkian made the remarks in a phone call with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday following an attack by the Israeli regime on Iran early on Friday, in which many military and civilian areas were targeted in Tehran and other cities.

"Those who claim to defend human rights not only support the Zionist regime’s aggression but also embolden it to carry out these inhumane acts by providing [Israel with] weapons and equipment,” he said.

He added that the Israeli regime, backed by the United States and Western countries, violates all international regulations.

He pointed to Iran’s successful retaliatory military operation -- code-named Operation True Promise III -- against Israel and reiterated the Islamic Republic’s ability to defend itself.

"If the Islamic Republic were not able to defend itself in the face of this criminal and child-killing regime, it would witness daily aggression against its land and the massacre of its people and scientists,” the president said.

“However, the Islamic Republic has mightily succeeded in shooting down some equipment used by the Zionist regime, which was said to be radar-evading and unbeatable,” he added.

Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran has always sought to promote peace and security in the region and across the world, but the latest Israeli strike proved that the country will face such attacks by a “criminal and murderous” regime if Tehran lacks strong defensive power.

The president said the US support for the Israeli regime in its aggression against Iran’s territory amid indirect nuclear talks indicated that Washington is not honest and cannot be trusted.

Less than 24 hours after the Israeli aggression, Iran launched its retaliatory operation – dubbed Operation True Promise III -- by firing a barrage of missiles towards the occupied Palestinian territories.

The operation began immediately after the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, delivered a televised message, saying that the "despicable" Israeli regime would be “rendered helpless” following reprisal by the Islamic Republic’s Armed Forces.

The Pakistani prime minister, for his part, expressed his country’s unwavering solidarity with the brotherly people of Iran in the face of Israel’s unprovoked aggression.

Sharif strongly condemned the violation of Iran’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, which was an affront to international law and the United Nations Charter.

He reiterated that Iran has every right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter and expressed hope that peace and tranquility would be restored to the region.

The Pakistani premier expressed regret that the Israeli regime commits all its actions in violation of the UN Charter and international law with impunity.
