He made the remarks in a meeting with Iran’s new Consul General to Russia’s Astrakhan Ahmad Heidarian, held in Tehran on Saturday, stressing the importance of ties between Tehran and Moscow.

The foreign minister emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the economic, trade, commercial, cultural and consular fields.

Iran's top diplomat also urged the new envoy to care about the handling of services for the Iranian expatriates during his tenure.
