The event, hosted by the Kenyan group Zamaleo ACT, centered on the theme “Threads of Heritage: Weaving Stories, Connecting Generations.” It featured traditional oral storytelling from around the world, ISNA reported.
Jahandoost gave several performances, including a special act at the opening ceremony. She also visited local schools and cultural centers, among them Nairobi’s Alliance High School—widely regarded as the country's top academic institution and operating under the United Nations framework.
Her performances drew strong reactions from children and adults alike.
Jahandoost also appeared on Kenya’s national TV program ‘Good Morning Kenya’ on KBC. She gave a 30-minute live interview and performed two storytelling segments in English for viewers.
During the Eid al-Adha celebration at the Iranian Cultural Center in Nairobi, she held a special session for Persian-speaking communities from Iran and Afghanistan.
On the sidelines of the festival, Jahandoost met with renowned Kenyan storyteller Wangari Grace. The two previously collaborated during an online Nowruz storytelling event. According to both artists, plans are in motion for further joint cultural projects.
Jahandoost attended the Sigana festival by official invitation and with support from Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization and the Iranian Cultural Center in Kenya.
