Fu Cong, speaking to China Central Television (CCTV), described Tel Aviv’s targeted strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities as “another red line that Israel has crossed.”
Also during a UN Security Council meeting on the situation in West Asia on Friday Fu said “China opposes the intensification of contradictions and the expansion of conflicts, and is deeply concerned about the consequences that may be brought about by Israel’s actions.”
The Chinese diplomat also expressed his country’s sincere concern about the negative impact of the current developments on diplomatic negotiations on Iran’s right to develop a nuclear program.
The Israeli regime launched a barbaric attack on Iran in the wee hours of Friday morning in which many civilian areas were indiscriminately targeted in Tehran and other cities.
The Tel Aviv regime, backed by the United States, carried out the large-scale military aggression in multiple locations inside Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, military infrastructure, and residential buildings in Tehran and other cities.
After targeting the headquarters of the armed forces, the regime resorted to extensive terrorist attacks on residential buildings, resulting in many civilian casualties, including women and children.
The local media reported that the unofficial death toll from the Zionist terrorist attacks only in Tehran province is estimated at 78 martyrs and over 329 injured.
The Israeli aggression also led to the assassination of several high-ranking Iranian military commanders and scientists, including the Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri, the commander in chief of the IRGC, Hossein Salami, the head of the IRGC Aerospace Forces, Amir Ali Hajizadeh, and six nuclear scientists including Fereydoon Abbasi-Davani and Mohammad Mehdi Tehranchi.
Iran’s retaliatory military operation – True Promise III – began on the same day.
The most severe damage was reported in Tel Aviv, where at least one missile struck a 50-story building, triggering a powerful explosion that sent columns of smoke rising over the city skyline.
